The Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan, also known as the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha, is a unicameral law making body and consists of 200 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The seat of the Legislative Assembly is at Jaipur, the capital of the state.
The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years. However, it may be dissolved earlier than that by the Governor on the request of the Chief Minister. The last legislative Assembly elections in Rajasthan were held in Dec 2018.

PARTY COMPOSITION
The 15th Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan formed post the elections held in Dec 2018 consists of 200 MLAs. INC (Indian National Congress) secured a landslide victory in the 2018 Assembly elections winning 100 seats and fell short by just 1 seat to comfortably cross the majority threshold of 101 seats to form the government. INC's UPA alliance partner RLD's (Rashtriya Lok Dal) 1 seat helped the UPA achieve the required majority to form the government. Subsequently there were a few changes in the composition of the assembly based on the switching of party alliances by MLAs and bye-elections held in specific constituencies.
- The INC-led UPA alliance with the support of RLD and 12 Independent MLAs has a total of 119 MLAs in the Rajasthan Assembly giving it a control over 60% of the total seats in the Assembly
- The BJP-led NDA alliance with the support of 1 Independent MLA has 72 MLAs and sits in the Opposition
- All other parties and independent MLAs together account for 7 seats
- 2 seats are currently vacant due to the death of the MLAs

- 33% MLAs in the current Assembly have little to no education (grade 12 or below), in comparison to 35% in the previous Assembly.
- 21% MLAs in the current Assembly are Graduates, in comparison to 21% in the previous Assembly.
- 43% MLAs in the current Assembly are highly qualified (professionals and above), in comparison to 41% in the previous Assembly.
- Only 13% MLAs in the current Assembly are women
- The percentage of women in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly has remained below 15% since 2008
